• The guides shown above walk the researcher through identifying and isolating tokens, as well as altering scripts to fit one’s research needs.

• All research assistants for the WVDP complete this assignment upon entering the program. This guide explains how a researcher can record their own vowels and retrieve data. It also includes explanations of creating a graph to depict one’s vowel space. Fun for the whole family.

• The WVDP utilizes this program to force-align the textgrids our Research Assistants have created in order to receive data quickly and efficiently. This how-to guide outlines important procedures and definitions when it comes to things like the Arpabet and splices.
• Part I: FAVE-Aligning Locally

• The WVDP has branched out into not only using FAVE online, but also aligning and extracting locally. This is advantageous for our research specifically because of how vowel functions differently within the dialect we study.

• The WVDP uses R as a means to make visual iterations of our data in the form of graphs. This guide explains basic R commands and familiarizes the researcher with typing directly into the RStudio console.
